How To Ride Natural Mountain Bike Trails | MTB Skills

Published on June 27th 2018

Riding natural mountain bike trails require a few more skills than those found in bike parks, they're generally steeper, rougher, have deep ruts and are subject to changeable conditions. They're one of our favourite things to ride at GMBN and Neil gives some great advice on how to tackle them. Subscribe to GMBN: Get exclusive GMBN gear in the GMBN store! Riding natural trials blind can be intimidating, but that shouldn't put you off. With some preparation and the right mindset there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to tackle your local natural trails. Being able to fluidly move around the bike is key, unweighting the wheels over rough sections with a moments notice and throwing your hips about to really rail a turn will make a difference. As with any MTB skill, confidence comes with experience and the more you ride natural trails the better equipped you will be to ride them.
