The festive period can be pretty terrible for your waistline, all those amazing foods can see you piling on the pounds. Luckily Blake is here with a couple of great tips to help you shift that winter weight. Subscribe to GMBN: Get exclusive GMBN gear in the GMBN store! In the gym: The gym is great for those bad weather days when you really do not want to be on your bike. The ‘cardio’ machines like treadmills and rowing machines are great for shifting those extra pounds, but don’t be afraid to use the free weights as well. These are a great way to mix up your training and boost your metabolism. On the bike: Doing intervals on fire-roads can be really boring, so why not make use of technical climbs as interval training. Ride as hard as you can on the way up, then recover on the way down. You’ll find if the trail is technical enough you’ll be working your whole body. Long rides in the winter can seem a bit daunting, so break your ride up with a cafe stop part way round, just make sure you don’t eat too much cake!
