Get rolling again with this guide to straightening out your wheel on the trailside. Click here to subscribe to GMBN: http://gmbn.eu/Subscribe You can buckle, pringle, or taco you wheel a number of ways – you don't have to crash. Although disc brakes mean that you can make it home with a buckled wheel, it's worth straightening out a severely pringle-d wheel before continuing your ride. To do this, all you'll need is a spoke key, a zip tie, yourself, and maybe the help of some friends. Start with the subtle technique; find where the bend in your wheel is and use your spoke key to straighten it out. If this doesn't work, switch to the slightly less... 'subtle' version. Find a solid object – something like a tree, or tree stump is ideal – and put your weight into it to straighten your wheel out. This is where you might need a bit of help. Ride smooth, hope that you avoid this happening to you, but, if it has happened, let us know how you solved it in the comments below.
